Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Elevator Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing elevators and escalators across our manufacturing facilities and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the safe, reliable operation of vertical transportation systems, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on elevators, escalators, and related mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to diagnose electrical issues involving low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Conduct hydraulic system repairs and adjustments, ensuring optimal performance of elevator components.
- Operate and calibrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to manage elevator control systems effectively.
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, maintenance history, and equipment status updates.
- Conduct field service activities including welding (<LOCATION> welding), HVAC/R system troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs using industrial mechanic experience.
- Follow safety protocols related to high voltage electrical work and low voltage control systems while working on manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with customer service inquiries related to elevator operations and maintenance schedules.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals for complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Operate scissor lifts or other elevated work platforms safely when accessing high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing facility or similar environment.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of industrial electrician practices, including working with high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, hydraulic systems, HVAC/R systems, and precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Experience with welding techniques (<LOCATION> welding preferred) for structural repairs or component fabrication.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking; previous experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and control diagrams accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge gained through industrial mechanic experience or military training is highly desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills for troubleshooting complex electrical or mechanical issues efficiently.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills in English.
- Valid certification or experience in industrial electrician work; familiarity with high-voltage safety procedures is essential.
