Overview of the Role

The Senior ELV Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, installing, testing, commissioning and maintaining Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems to meet project specifications and client requirements. The position requires extensive coordination with consultants, main contractors and suppliers to deliver integrated ELV solutions within project timelines and budgetary constraints. Success in this role involves proactive management of quality, health, safety, environment and asset management while fostering professional relationships to support ELV system integration.

What You Will Do Design and Planning

• Review project specifications, IFC drawings and ELV requirements.
• Create detailed ELV design drawings, schematics and layouts for systems such as CCTV, access control, BMS, fire alarm, public address, SMATV/IPTV, PABX, data & Wi Fi, structured cabling, GRMS and parking management.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (NFPA, BS, IEC, TIA/EIA, etc.) and local authority regulations.

Coordination and Collaboration

• Establish relationships with clients, consultants, vendors and suppliers.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with MEP and architectural teams.
• Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets and shop drawings for consultant/operator approval.

Installation and Supervision

• Supervise installation, termination and testing of all ELV systems on site.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to maintain safety, efficiency and quality standards.
• Verify cable routes, conduit layouts and system integration points.

Testing and Troubleshooting

• Conduct system testing, programming and commissioning with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during integration.
• Prepare final test and commissioning reports for client handover.

Quality and Assurance

• Control technical accuracy and quality of installation per the project QAP.
• Implement and monitor QHSE and asset management practices.
• Report incidents promptly to prevent recurrence.

Operational Support

• Support procurement by preparing bills of quantity and material take offs.
• Maintain accurate drawings, submittals, RFIs and as built documents.
• Assist in preparing O&M manuals, training schedules and system operation documents.

Leadership and Management

• Allocate workforce based on program, work nature and skill requirements.
• Set targets and monitor site workforce productivity.
• Arrange skills development and training for foremen and site staff.

Required Skills To Be Successful

• Design and review expertise for ELV systems such as fire alarm, CCTV and access control.
• Ability to prepare system design drawings, integration plans and calculations.
• Proficient understanding of international standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership and coordination skills to manage teams and liaise with external partners.

What Qualifies You For The Role

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Communication Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 12 years of experience in MEP.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, ELV integration and protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, BACnet.
• Preferred certifications: BICSI, KNX or manufacturer certifications (Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch).
