Position: ELV Engineer

Job Purpose

The ELV Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems in compliance with SIRA standards, Civil Defense requirements, and project specifications. The role ensures successful project execution and client satisfaction through effective planning, technical expertise, and adherence to UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities1. Installation & Configuration

  • Install, configure, and test ELV systems including:
  • CCTV (IP & Analog)
  • Access Control Systems
  • Intrusion Alarm Systems
  • Intercoms & Video Door Phones
  • SMATV / IPTV
  • PA/BGM Systems
  • Structured Cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, Fiber)
  • Ensure all installations comply with SIRA guidelines and industry standards.

2. System Design & Technical Support

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to prepare system designs.
  • Assist in preparation of shop drawings, system schematics, and cable layouts.
  • Provide technical support to project teams, procurement, and clients.

3. Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning for all ELV systems.
  • Prepare test reports, as-built documentation, and compliance statements.
  • Ensure proper system integration and functionality as per SIRA requirements.

4. Project Execution

  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients during project execution.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress and technical issues.
  • Ensure timely completion of work within project timelines and quality standards.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain full compliance with:
  • SIRA regulations
  • UAE Civil Defense
  • DEWA, Etisalat/Du guidelines
  • Project-specific standards
  • Prepare all necessary technical documents, inspection forms, and SIRA audit requirements.

6. Maintenance & Support

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of ELV systems.
  • Diagnose system failures and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide post-installation support and technical guidance to clients.

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in ELV systems within the UAE.
  • Valid SIRA Engineer/Supervisor License — Mandatory.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of CCTV (IP-based), ACS, IDS, SMATV, PABGM, and networking systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred).
  • Familiarity with configuration of NVRs, DVRs, servers, switches, VMS software, and storage systems.
  • Understanding of fiber optics, splicing, OTDR testing, and copper cabling.
  • Knowledge of SIRA device requirements and approved brands.
