This role is responsible for the end-to-end technical design, detailed estimation, and resource planning for complex, large-scale security deployments. Working as a technical partner to the sales team, this individual ensures that project proposals are innovative, technically sound, and commercially viable, accurately reflecting the requirements for successful project delivery and client turnover.

Responsibilities includes (but not limited to) the following:

Solution Design & Technical Architecture

  • Translate client requirements into comprehensive technical designs for new security project deployments (CCTV, Access Control, PSIM, etc.).
  • Conduct site surveys and technical audits to determine the infrastructure requirements for new project installations.
  • Validate technical feasibility of proposed system architectures, ensuring alignment with local regulations (e.g., SIRA/MCC) and international engineering standards.

Project Estimation & Value Engineering

  • Develop detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) , including hardware, software licenses, cabling, and specialized installation materials.
  • Quantify labor requirements specifically for project phases: engineering, installation, programming, commissioning, and final testing.
  • Factor in project-specific costs such as mobilization, specialized equipment rentals, scaffolding, and logistics for site-based work.
  • Perform "Value Engineering" to provide clients with cost-effective alternatives that meet technical specs while improving the competitiveness of the bid.

Bid Management & Proposal Development

  • Lead the technical response for Tenders and RFPs, creating detailed compliance matrices and technical write-ups.
  • Identify project risks , such as site constraints or integration complexities, and develop mitigation strategies to protect project margins.
  • Present technical solutions to stakeholders, justifying the chosen technology and the projected ROI of the new implementation.

Tools & Process Improvement:

  • Utilize and potentially develop specialized estimation software, spreadsheets, and tools to streamline the quotation process.
  • Maintain a database of vendor pricing and emerging security technologies to ensure project designs utilize "state-of-the-art" solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation models, templates, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain an organized database of past estimations, actual costs, and project outcomes to inform future pricing strategies.

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Professional certifications in estimation or security systems are highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Project Pre-Sales or Technical Estimation, with a proven track record in high-value security integration projects.
  • Proven experience in accurately estimating costs for technical services, labor, and materials.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the engineering lifecycle, including the design, installation, and commissioning of integrated security systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, VMS,ICT , SCS, HVM and PSIM.
  • Experience with tenders and large-scale project quotations.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with meticulous attention to detail required for complex project blueprints and multi-layered Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Proficiency in creating detailed financial models, comprehensive project cost sheets, and tiered pricing structures for competitive bidding.
  • In-depth familiarity with various security system components, their installation requirements, and technical compatibility for new build integrations.
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols, IT infrastructure, and software licensing models essential for the initial deployment of security systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, or specialized project estimation software to generate accurate technical proposals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or specialized estimation software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with sales, technical, and finance teams, as well as clients.
