ELV Technician

Job Title: ELV Technician (Extra-Low Voltage Technician)Job Summary

The ELV Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems. These include security, communication, and safety systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm interfaces, structured cabling, and audiovisual systems. The role ensures all ELV systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain ELV systems including:
• CCTV and surveillance systems
• Access control and door entry systems
• Fire alarm and interface systems
• Structured cabling (CAT6, fiber optic)
• Public Address (PA) and audio-visual systems
• Intercom and master clock systems
• Perform testing, commissioning, and system handover
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on ELV systems
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Ensure installations comply with local codes and project standards
• Prepare daily work reports and as-built documentation
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition
• Follow health, safety, and quality procedures at all times

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of ELV systems and components
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Understanding of networking basics (IP addressing, switches)
• Good cable management and termination skills
• Familiarity with testing equipment (multimeter, cable tester)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or ITI in Electronics, Electrical, or related field
• Proven experience as an ELV Technician or similar role
• Certifications in CCTV, Access Control, or Fire Alarm systems
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
• Valid driver’s license (if site travel is required)

Working Conditions

• Site-based work in commercial, residential, or industrial environments
• May require shift work, night work, or on-call duties
• Physical activity including ladder work and confined spaces

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,200.00 per month
