Purpose
The Email Campaign Developer will develop a variety of marketing emails that support fundraising, events, stewardship and cultivation goals, as well as internal communication priorities; maintain email production schedule and email calendar.
Responsibilities
Production/Development
Develop a variety of HTML emails (including mobile) that support fundraising, sponsorship, events, audience engagement (content newsletters), stewardship and cultivation goals, as well as internal communication priorities.
Maintain day-to-day email production schedule including the creation, development, testing and execution of email campaigns for targeted email communications.
Generate creative ideas for email design and campaigns.
Oversee automated and recurring email campaigns.
Strategy
Work closely with the KUT News, Texas Standard and KUTX 98.9 content teams on email strategy and audience engagement.
Assist in developing A/B test strategies and performing A/B tests to optimize email performance.
Devise and implement email segmentation, using testing and targeting to maximize acquisition and conversion.
Create email analytics reports.
Develop design and QA guidelines for email campaigns.
General
Stay up-to-date on email best practices and ensure all messages adhere to them in including best practices for accessibility in email design.
Pro-actively participate in development strategies, membership initiatives, and regular team meetings.
Work closely with colleagues across the station, of all different backgrounds and skills. Must have demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with major coursework in marketing, communications or related field and three years related experience.
Two years related experience developing marketing emails using marketing automation platforms.
Two or more years' experience in development and testing in responsive HTML and CSS.
Knowledge of using email techniques such as batching and contact filters.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPress.
Proven ability to prioritize, manage and organize multiple projects that consistently meet deadlines and budget.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Overall excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Emma, an email marketing software.
Experience using Litmus or similar tool for developing emails and for QA testing.
Experience with graphic design and using Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to write clear and compelling content.
Public broadcasting experience.
Salary Range
$57,000+ Annually
Work Shift
Occasional travel may be required. Work hours may vary to include additional working hours during peak periods. This position may require working on evenings, some weekends and holidays. This position is hybrid and requires work on-site three days per week and is remote two days per week.
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Moving equipment, supplies, furniture in the course of day-to-day operations.
