We are looking for a highly skilled Email Marketing & Deliverability Specialist to manage and scale our first-party and third-party email campaigns. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of inboxing, compliance, and technical email infrastructure, beyond just ESP usage.
You’ll be responsible for maximizing deliverability, maintaining domain reputation, and ensuring campaigns are fully compliant while driving revenue through high-performing email strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute email marketing campaigns for first-party data (internal lists) and 3rd-party list management.
- Optimize inboxing performance by testing different strategies, creatives, and setups.
- Set up and manage email delivery using ESPs and (preferably) self-hosted servers/AWS SES/Postfix setups.
- Configure and maintain email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI).
- Oversee domain reputation management, IP warmups, and rotation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL) and best practices.
- Build and test responsive HTML/CSS email templates with proper rendering across devices and clients.
- Analyze and interpret email headers to diagnose deliverability issues, spam placement, or ISP filtering.
- Collaborate with creative teams to test subject lines, templates, and CTAs for higher engagement.
- Work with DevOps/Tech teams on domain records, DNS, feedback loops, suppression lists, and list hygiene.
- Research and implement advanced deliverability strategies to stay ahead of ISP filtering and evolving inbox rules.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in email marketing & deliverability management (both first and third-party emailing).
- Strong technical knowledge of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI, MX, PTR, DNS records.
- Hands-on experience with ESP platforms and preferably direct sending via servers/AWS SES.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS for email development (clean, lightweight code for inboxing).
- Ability to read and analyze email headers to troubleshoot deliverability and reputation issues.
- Solid understanding of inboxing strategies, IP/domain reputation, and warm-up practices.
- Familiarity with list hygiene, suppression management, segmentation, and 3rd-party list compliance.
- Strong knowledge of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and global email compliance rules.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret deliverability reports and performance metrics.
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Experience with MTA setups (Postfix, PowerMTA, MailWizz, etc.).
- Ability to script automation workflows (Python, Node.js, or PHP for email-related automation).
- Familiarity with feedback loop APIs, blocklist monitoring, and inbox monitoring tools.
- Prior experience in affiliate or performance marketing email campaigns.
