About the Role:
We’re looking for a performance-driven Email & SMS Marketing Strategist with hands-on experience using Klaviyo to lead our retention and lifecycle efforts. You won’t just be hitting "send" - you will be the architect of our digital communication roadmap. You’ll be responsible for formulating, executing, and optimizing multi-channel strategies that maximize Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), reduce churn, and drive measurable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Formulation: Develop and own the comprehensive Email and SMS marketing roadmap, aligning communication cycles with brand goals, product launches, and seasonal trends.
- Lifecycle Architecture: Map the end-to-end customer journey to design and implement sophisticated automated flows (welcome series, browse abandonment, post-purchase replenishment, and win-backs).
- Advanced Segmentation: Design complex audience segmentation strategies based on zero-party data, purchase frequency, engagement tiers, and predictive churn modeling.
- Testing & Optimization: Lead a rigorous A/B testing framework to optimize conversion rates, experimenting with offer structures, send-time optimization, and multi-channel attribution.
- Campaign Execution: Oversee the scheduling and deployment of one-off campaigns, ensuring a strategic balance between promotional, educational, and brand-building content.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor KPIs (Open Rate, CTR, Revenue per Recipient, LTV) and deliver weekly strategic reports that translate raw data into actionable growth opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Design and Content teams to provide creative briefs that align with the overarching marketing strategy and visual standards.
- Compliance & Deliverability: Proactively manage sender reputation and ensure 100% compliance with TCPA, GDPR, and CASL regulations.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a dedicated Email & SMS Strategist, preferably in the eCommerce space.
- Mastery of Klaviyo: Deep technical expertise in flow logic, conditional splits, and custom event tracking.
- Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to translate high-level business objectives into specific, data-driven marketing tactics.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong proficiency in analyzing eCommerce KPIs and using data to justify strategic shifts.
- Communication: Exceptional copywriting skills and the ability to present complex strategy to stakeholders clearly.
- Independence: A self-starter capable of managing the full lifecycle of a project from ideation to post-mortem analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Platform Integration: Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar stacks.
- Advanced Tooling: Familiarity with deliverability tools (e.g., Litmus, Email on Acid) and loyalty platforms (e.g., Yotpo, Smile.io).
- SMS Expertise: Deep understanding of the nuances between SMS and Email strategy, including "quiet hours" and frequency capping.
- Technical Skills: Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for custom email template troubleshooting.
