The Emergency/Accident Doctor will provide immediate medical care to patients arriving in the Emergency Department. The doctor should be skilled in handling trauma, critical care, resuscitation, and emergency procedures. This is a high-responsibility, fast-paced role requiring quick clinical judgment and decision-making.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:1. Emergency Patient Care

  • Provide rapid assessment and stabilization of patients in emergency conditions.
  • Diagnose and treat trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and medical emergencies.
  • Manage road-traffic accidents, burns, poisoning, fractures, strokes, etc.

2. Emergency Procedures

  • Perform life-saving procedures (intubation, central lines, defibrillation, etc.).
  • Handle wound suturing, splinting, emergency IV access, and airway management.
  • Conduct CPR and manage cardiac arrest cases per ACLS/BLS protocols.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with ICU, Surgery, Orthopedics, OBG, and other departments as needed.
  • Communicate patient condition and treatment plan to relatives clearly and professionally.
  • Work closely with nursing staff and emergency technicians.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate case sheets, treatment notes, and medication orders.
  • Ensure legal documentation for medico-legal cases (MLC).
  • Complete daily shift reports and ensure smooth handover.

5. Triage Management

  • Categorize patients based on severity and priority.
  • Ensure critical patients receive immediate care.

6. Night Shift Responsibilities

  • Manage emergency cases independently during night hours.
  • Remain available for all critical situations and rapid response.
  • Maintain readiness for ambulance calls and trauma alerts.

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS from a recognized medical college
  • MEM (Master in Emergency Medicine) mandatory
  • Valid State Medical Council Registration
  • 2+ years of experience in Emergency/Accident/Casualty Department
  • BLS/ACLS certification preferred
