The Department of Emergency Medicine is a clinical, research, and academic department within the UC Davis Health System with administrative departments within Hospital Emergency Services (ED). This position is responsible for procuring, auditing, validating, managing, maintaining, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting administrative, clinical, and research data for the department. The position provides analytical expertise essential to the Emergency Department's operations and decision making by departmental and health system leadership.
The position plays a vital role in identifying areas for performance/quality improvement, assessing interventional outcomes, monitoring ongoing operations, and providing information needed by faculty, investigators, staff, and others. The position requires a high level of analytical skill, independent judgement, creativity, organizational ability and communication skills. The position must balance a knowledge of patient flow and quality care with a high level of independent inquiry, problem solving, decision making, and analysis in order to support ongoing operations and the implementation and monitoring of performance/continuous quality improvement efforts as well as gathering business requirements to draft dashboards and reporting specifications. The position requires a high level of innovation, communication, analytical organization, priority setting, leadership, technical knowledge along with the ability to manage multiple projects utilizing current technology to develop and enhance processes, as well as reporting. The incumbent establishes day-to-day priorities and work guidelines to achieve accurate and timely results. Work is performed independently, under the general direction of the Emergency Department Director.

Department Overview
To provide clerical support and coordination of patient services to the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is a 152-bed acute/tertiary that includes being Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center.
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UC Davis provides a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, 42 residents, and a total of 26 specialists of every medical and surgical specialty to treat critically ill and injured adults and children. Our team provides an extraordinary level of knowledge, skill and compassion to every patient we serve at our Level 1 Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion.
The Emergency Department is prepared and equipped to provide comprehensive and efficient emergency care to patients in need of medical and surgical specialty physicians to treat critical and acute illnesses and injuries 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
