The Emergency specialist is responsible for providing high-quality, timely, and efficient emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. This includes diagnosing and managing acute illnesses and injuries, stabilizing critically ill patients, coordinating care with specialists, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and protocols.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Patient Assessment & Management:

  • Conduct rapid and thorough patient evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage emergency conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, and critical illnesses.
  • Initiate appropriate investigations and treatments promptly.


2.Resuscitation & Critical Care:

  • Lead resuscitation efforts for critically ill patients, including CPR, airway management, and advanced life support measures.
  • Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and wound suturing.


3.Coordination & Consultation:

  • Communicate effectively with other specialists/consultants for patient referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care..


4.Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including patient history, examination findings, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.


5.Patient Disposition & Follow-Up:

  • Determine appropriate patient disposition (admission, discharge, transfer) based on clinical judgment.
  • Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up recommendations to patients.


6.Education & Training:

  • Participate in continuous medical education, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and supervise junior doctors and medical students when applicable.


7. Department development:

  • Participate in policy development, protocol implementation, and adherence to JCI standards.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings and provide constructive input.


• Education & Certifications:

  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  • BLS, ACLS, ATLS


• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency medicine.


• Language Skills: Must be fluent in both English and Arabic.


• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, communication, and ability to work under

pressure.
