About the Role

Hamad International Airport is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as Emergency Planning Support Manager. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proven track record in developing and maintaining the readiness of all crisis management and can help us to achieve this ambition by:

  • Strengthen partnership, collaboration and liaison with the emergency responding agencies and stakeholders to ensure appropriate handling and management of airport emergencies.
  • Responsible in ensuring compliance with QCAA QCAR 006 (2017 as amended) and other regulatory requirements from Authorities and Ministries.
  • Support the department in reviewing and updating the Airport Emergency plans of both DIA and HIA, the contingency planning and crisis management plans and procedures.
  • Responsible for development of contingency planning and crisis management plans and procedures; develop and ensure implementation of procedures and policies for emergency response operations.
  • Organizing and appraising the regular emergency crash and rescue exercises in collaboration with QCAA, aviation stakeholders and emergency responding agencies
  • - internal and external.
  • Support the Line Manager in developing and maintaining the readiness of all crisis management centers according to emergency response procedures.
  • Preparing, organizing and evaluating the regular emergency, crash and rescue exercises in coordination with QCAA and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments to develop an objective assessment of the risk involved with a specific activity, lessons learned from accidents, incidents and exercises; develop additional control measures to reduce and manage risk.
  • Interact with Emergency Responders to ensure proper handling of emergency, crash and rescue situations.
  • Preparing recommendations and corrective actions to enhance emergency responses. Participate in meetings to coordinate emergency planning requirements. Liaise with the Line Manager the needs of all personnel involved in emergency response.
  • Liaise with Airport Security and Military for teamwork on matters involving security and emergency planning.
  • Perform any other task as assigned by the line manager and/or senior management.

Qualifications

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum of 6 years of job related experience


    Qatari National


    Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent without prior experience

Essential:

  • Emergency planning mid-management role.
  • Proven work agility.
  • Experience in similar field with 6 years of experience at minimum (preferably within Aviation industry)
  • Experience in delivering related training sessions (preferably a certified trainer).
  • 6-7 years experience in airports operations and emergency planning.

Job Specific Skills:

Essential

  • Coordinating with external agencies, good communication skills, presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Understanding of disaster management.
  • Familiarity with emergency response departments and their work in Qatar.
  • Fluent English language and good ability to write reports, Arabic speaker to communicate with government agencies is an advantage.
  • Commitment to work, whereas required, out of office undertaking Emergency Planning related duties.
  • Ability to present solutions in an understandable and logical manner.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office/SharePoint and other applications.
  • Knowledge of emergency response centers and their functions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of cultural intelligence.
  • Communication skills. Effective negotiation and relationship skills and in working with all levels of management.
  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
