Role: Emission Regulation research and development

·

Work description overview:
  • Research, Analysis and Impact Assessment of Various Regulatory Updates or Proposals under discussion related to Vehicular Emissions, Automotive Fuel Specifications, Environmental Policies concerning Pollution & Ambient Air Quality.
  • Study various reports published by Key Stake holders (such as NGOs / Academia / Policy Research Groups etc,) for key suggestions / recommendations and impact assessment along with Risk Mitigation scenarios / counter proposals
  • Driving internal Organizational Consensus on Proposals / Overall Organizational Views & Position for External Stakeholder (Automotive Industry Bodies / Regulatory / Govt. Bodies) Consultation and Consensus

Key Skills (Mandatory)

o

Understanding of Existing Standards / Directives for pollutant and GHG emissions & its impact Assessment

  • Possess knowledge of relevant regulations (AIS, UNR, EU, ISO etc.) concerning Vehicle Emissions & CO2 Measurement Procedure, CAFÉ Calculations and related standard,
  • Able to assess impact in terms of development efforts for meeting new regulatory scenarios.
o

Understanding of environmental science and engineering

§ Have a strong understanding of the principles of environmental science and engineering, including air quality, pollution control technologies & GHG effect.

§ Practical exposure (at least 2~3 years) of Emission / CO2 Testing from a Regulatory (Homologation / COP) or Development background

o

Analyzing data, Empirical modeling, Basic statistics

§ Able to make relationships from available data and conduct basic statistics to gain insights like variance, regression and correlation, hypothesis testing, probability, etc.

o

Communication, Collaboration, stakeholder engagement:
§ Communicating with stakeholders to explain regulations, address concerns, and prepare proposals.

§ Working collaboratively with internal & external scientists, engineers, and policymakers to develop and implement effective emission control strategies.

o

Ideation for new proposal making for mobility related regulatory scenario based on national goals and international benchmarking.

Technical skills

o Microsoft office – Advanced Excel, Word & PowerPoint, MS teams.

o Use of AI tools – ChatGPT, TenseAI or others

o Technical report / content writing

o Data analytics (use of automation & programming tools is preferred)

o Basic working statistics
