Employee Benefits Manager

We are seeking a Benefits Manager to lead the administration and ongoing evolution of our employee benefits programs. This is a great opportunity for an experienced benefits professional or an HR Generalist who has strong exposure to benefits and wants to deepen their specialization.

Our benefits organization supports a workforce of approximately 150 employees, and this role plays an important part in ensuring our people understand and fully utilize the benefits available to them.

In 2026, this position will work closely with our current Benefits Leader, who has supported the organization for more than 25 years. This transition period will allow the incoming manager to learn the role, processes, and institutional knowledge before gradually assuming full ownership of the function.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, is comfortable managing both modern systems and some traditional/manual administrative processes, and values building relationships with employees across all levels of the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer and manage a comprehensive suite of employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSAs, and 401(k) retirement plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, communicating clearly and effectively with employees ranging from frontline team members to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
  • Oversee key compliance and reporting requirements including Form 5500 filings and 401(k) testing.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including manual filing and administrative processes that remain part of the current environment.
  • Provide administrative support tied to accounting, including coordination with accounts payable/receivable and bookkeeping functions.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Approximately 8+ years of experience in HR, benefits administration, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting benefits programs in small to mid-sized organizations (150–200 employees or similar).
  • Candidates with strong HR Generalist experience and meaningful exposure to benefits who want to specialize are encouraged to apply.

Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, from frontline teams to executive leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing both digital systems and manual processes.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to or experience supporting payroll processes or payroll systems.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid schedule, with 2–3 days per week onsite and the remainder remote. The role collaborates closely with employees across the organization and may occasionally interact with teams at our distribution center.
