Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for an Employee Communications Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing communications plans, materials and products for internal audiences, including newsletters and articles, PowerPoint presentations, emails, and working collaboratively with editors, graphic designers, videographers, photographers and other communication professionals that result in impactful outcomes. The selected candidate will primarily work on content related to safety and health, environmental, and quality assurance topics.

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Hiring Range: $59,000 – $63,000 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant's education, training, and experience.)

This position is required to travel up to 15-20% of the time depending on location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create content for internal audiences that improves employees' understanding of the application and importance of safety and health, environmental, and quality assurance topics.
  • Work collaboratively with technical subject matter experts, editors, graphic designers, videographers, photographers and other communication professionals to lead projects from initiation through production and completion.
  • Follow approved writing and visual identity style guides and review and approval processes.
  • Lead planning, development, review, and distribution of newsletter related to safety and health, environmental, and quality assurance topics.
  • Collaborate with assigned teams to manage internal communications needs, including drafting messages, overseeing email platforms, developing communications plans and campaigns, and ensuring compliance with branding guidelines and approval processes.
  • Review and analyze communications data to inform strategy while developing and reviewing communication plans. Collaborate with the Employee Communications team to ensure a cohesive strategy and process when supporting internal communications needs.
  • Follow Employee Communications best practices to ensure communications are properly identified as records and direct the communications to be archived as appropriate.
  • Monitor and manage email boxes as directed, ensuring timely response and execution of requested messages.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, journalism, public affairs, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License
  • No professional certification required

Essential Physical Requirements

Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
