Job Description – Emergency Department Staff

Position Title: Emergency Staff
Department: Emergency / Casualty
Location: Malar Hospital, Hosur
Reports To: Nursing Superintendent

Job Purpose:

To provide immediate and effective care to patients in emergency and trauma situations, ensuring timely intervention and stabilization as per hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line care to critically ill or injured patients upon arrival.
• Perform triage and prioritize treatment based on the severity of the condition.
• Administer emergency medication, IV fluids, and assist in procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and provide CPR, wound care, or life support when needed.
• Prepare and assist in minor surgical or emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical charts.
• Communicate promptly with doctors, specialists, and family members.
• Ensure availability of medical supplies and emergency kits at all times.
• Follow strict infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Work in coordination with ambulance services and other hospital departments.

Qualifications & Skills:

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / DMLT / Emergency Technician Certification
• 1–3 years experience in Emergency / Casualty preferred (freshers can be considered)
• Excellent decision-making and critical thinking under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to work in shifts, including night and weekend duties
• Must stay calm and professional during high-stress situations

Working Hours

• Rotational shifts / Based on hospital schedule
