We are seeking a skilled EMR/EHR Integration Programmer to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable integrations between our health systems and various EMR/EHR platforms. You will work closely with clinical stakeholders, product teams, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate, real-time data exchange that supports healthcare workflows and improves patient outcomes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop interfaces for integrating with EMR/HER systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts,

Athenahealth, NextGen) with internal software systems.

Build and manage HL7, FHIR, CCD, CDA, and/or custom API integrations to enable secure data exchange.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, map data elements, and ensure clinical alignment.

Develop API-based solutions for real-time and batch data exchange.

Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues including data mismatches, latency, or security gaps.

Work with authentication standards such as Oauth2, SMART on FHIR, and SAML to support secure

access.

Document integration workflows, interface specifications, and technical implementations.

Monitor interface performance and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.

Support the deployment and monitoring of interfaces in production environments.

Assist in EMR upgrades, migrations, and testing for integrated systems.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
-
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field
Experience:
-
2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, Athenahealth, etc.)

Experience with healthcare integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf)

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools
Credentials:

Certification in HL7 or FHIR (or relevant vendor certification)
Knowledge and Skills:

Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or C#

Familiarity with standards such as HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CCD, and CDA

Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, XML, JSON, and SQL

Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data security requirements

Background in health informatics or clinical workflows

Familiarity with interface monitoring and alerting tools
