The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch IAED ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources.

The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Driver’s License
• This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills.

Preferred:

• 1–3 years of previous dispatch experience related experience in firefighting/EMS

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (Required)
• APCO BTC or State-approved equivalent Certification (Required)
• IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification (Required)
• Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification (Required)
• Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification (Required)
• ICS – 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification (Required)
• PHTLS/ITLS (Preferred)

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-time, Day
