About the role

DNV seeks an Energy Assessor individual to serve as a key customer-facing representative of the Small Business Energy Assessment Program, conducting on-site energy assessments for small business customers. This role involves evaluating customer facilities, identifying energy-savings opportunities, recommending program solutions, and installing select direct install measures. The position will report to the Program Manager and will be a key member of staff to drive the success of the program over the coming years.

The Energy Assessor individual will work with DNV staff to ensure the successful execution of field assessments, direct installs, and data entry of all collected facility data. This field role will be in field at minimum of three days and work from home or in the office two days a week.

This role is based at our DNV office in Lansing, MI, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

What you'll do

  • Conduct scheduled on-site energy assessments for small business customers.
  • Install direct installation measures (such as TLEDs, faucet aerators, pipe wrap, and other low-cost energy-saving measures) where appropriate and with customer consent.
  • Document site finding, proposed measures, and installed equipment.

About you

What is Required

  • High-school Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • One year of experience in field service, facilities, or a customer-facing role
  • Ability to use hand tools and safely install simple measures
  • Comfort working independently in the field and entering various types of small business facilities
  • Must possess a valid driver s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

What is Preferred

  • One year of experience in energy assessments preferred
  • Technical training in energy efficiency preferred
