The Position:

An elite AM-ranked law firm are looking to grow their Energy Practice Group in their dominant Atlanta office location. The team are looking for a mid-level associate to onboard. They are open to Associate who are looking to relocate to Atlanta.


The Energy group provide advice on transactional, regulatory and dispute resolution services for businesses across the energy industry. Several of the teams attorneys have experience before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), including Federal Power Act regulatory requirements, Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act requirements, Energy Consumer Protection Act, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration requirements, to name a few.


Requirements of the Role:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant law firm experience.
  • Experience in energy law, including the representation of renewable energy and electric storage developers, independent power producers and transmission companies, power marketers, and electric and gas utilities.
  • The Associate should be confident in working on a mix of regulatory work before FERC and state public utility commissions, litigation before administrative agencies and federal courts, investigations, and transactional, and other deal work supporting energy-related financings and transactions.
  • Significant experience in FERC hearings/settlements and regulatory experience, including in the electric renewable energy and gas areas, is desirable.
  • Hold a relevant JD and be admitted to the Georgia bar (or eligible to waive into the Georgia bar if relocating).
