Country Visions Cooperative is looking to hire an Energy Operations Manager for our Northern Territory. This position can be based out of our Oconto Falls Office or our Menominee MI office.

The Energy Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the Cooperative’s refined fuels and propane operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance. This position oversees operational staff, manages fuel and propane distribution activities, maintains regulatory compliance, and ensures exceptional customer service. The role supports the Cooperative’s mission by optimizing operational efficiency, controlling costs, maintaining equipment and facilities, and expanding market share while meeting financial objectives.

Essential Job Duties
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the petroleum and propane operations teams including drivers and service technicians.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and operational standards.
  • Work with the VP of Energy to determine staffing levels and adjust workforce to meet seasonal demand.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, training, and development of department personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify training and development opportunities for employees.
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes productivity, accountability, and collaboration
Other Job Duties
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including propane delivery, tank installation, service work and refined fuel distribution.
  • Assist drivers and service technicians with field operations when necessary, including deliveries and service tasks.
  • Coordinate communication between drivers, service staff, office personnel, and customers.
  • Utilize company software systems to maintain accurate operational data, scheduling, and customer service coordination.
  • Support the achievement of annual sales and profitability goals established in the departmental budget.
  • Introduce and promote new products, programs, and services that support business growth.
  • Manage refined fuel, propane, parts, and asset inventories to maintain adequate supply and minimize shrinkage.
  • Purchase products and materials that support quality service and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to ensure reliable service without excessive inventory costs.
  • Ensure all vehicles, tanks, facilities, and operational equipment are maintained in safe and reliable working conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including DOT, OSHA, and industry safety standards.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures related to fuel handling, transportation, and storage.
  • Monitor driver safety performance and ensure compliance with CSA requirements.
  • Promote safe product handling practices among employees and customers.
  • Adhere to Cooperative risk management and operational policies established by leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers by providing responsive, reliable, and professional service.
  • Address customer concerns, service issues, or claims promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure installations, service work, and equipment performance meet quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate coverage for responsibilities during planned or unplanned absences to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Required Education and Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (Must Obtain within 90 days)
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Knowledge of fuel distribution, propane operations, or energy-related services
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
  • Strong operational skills in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coach and develop team members
  • Effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with team members and guests
  • Proven ability to gain the respect and trust of direct reports
  • Effectively handle and manage confidential and sensitive information
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods up to 8 (eight) hours in length
