Energy Trader (Power/Gas)

We are looking for the Senior Power Trader who will be responsible to trade on behalf of Akenerji in the highly competitive European Energy Exchange and Turkish market. Candidate will be a part of highly-skilled energy professionals with a passion for what they do and a continuous motivation to make a difference.

You will be responsible of your own proprietary book to trade short and long term futures products and expected add value to the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, Finance or related fields (Master’s Degree is a plus),
• Experience on European Energy Markets, EPİAŞ, TEİAŞ(TCAT) and SEECAO for short term operations is preferred,
• At least 3 years of experience in any kind of trading and mathematical optimization,
• Excellent time management skills supported with punctuality,
• Sharp ability to detect arising opportunities and the ambition to seize them without hesitation to take responsibility,
• Profound experience in computer systems supported with the interest for software languages,
• Competitive, assertive, challenger and able to deliver reliable output under pressure,
• Excellent command of English both written and oral and an additional European language will be preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Participating / Leading in regularly held strategy meetings and collaborate with the team on the position management decisions,
• Screen Trading, Quantitative Trading and Spread Trading of Power and other commodities (Oil, CO2, Gas),
• Ensuring business procedures and corporate compliance requirements remain maximal,
• Generating ideas and strategies on trading opportunities, product insights and risk management,
• Close cooperation with the analysis team to improve internal models’ performance,
• Comply with allocated limits and ETRM procedures on a daily basis.
