The Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems at Turnberry Marina located in Aventura, FL. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the marina by ensuring docks, utilities, buildings, and equipment are maintained in excellent working condition. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in plumbing and electrical systems, a proactive maintenance mindset, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor, waterfront environment.

Marina experience is preferred but not required; candidates with strong engineering or facilities maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on marina facilities, docks, buildings, and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including water lines, pumps, valves, fixtures, drainage, and leak issues
  • Perform electrical work, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining lighting, panels, outlets, wiring, and marina power pedestals
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, HVAC units, and related equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections of docks, pilings, walkways, and marina infrastructure to identify safety or maintenance concerns
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations, including after-hours calls when required
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and management for specialized repairs or projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, local codes, and marina operational standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records
  • Assist with marina preparations for weather events, including storm readiness and post-storm assessments
  • Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as painting, minor carpentry, and equipment upkeep
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional marina environment at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support marina operations

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of engineering, facilities maintenance, or related experience
  • Strong plumbing and electrical experience is required
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, and general building maintenance
  • Marina or waterfront facility experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with safety practices, OSHA standards, and local building codes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple tasks
