Job Title: Engineer – Custom Metal Fabrication

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our custom metal fabrication team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning drawings into real, buildable solutions and working closely with the shop-floor team. The Engineer will be responsible for developing designs, improving fabrication processes, and supporting production to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop custom metal fabrication solutions based on customer requirements and project specifications
• Create detailed drawings, models, BOMs, and DXF files for fabrication and assembly
• Collaborate with welders and shop supervisors to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project requirements
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide engineering support on the shop floor
• Identify opportunities to improve fabrication methods, tooling, and workflow

Qualifications:

• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes such as welding, machining, cutting, and forming
• Knowledge of sheet metal design and/or structural fabrication
• Ability to read and create technical drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in a custom fabrication or job-shop environment
