To serve as a core technical expert in the Airport Emergency Services (AES) team, ensuring the readiness, operational integrity, and full compliance of all disabled aircraft recovery assets, equipment, and procedures. This role is crucial for executing safe, efficient, and timely recovery operations to minimize disruption to airport operations
Lead and perform in-depth technical inspection, maintenance, and precise calibration of all specialized aircraft recovery assets, tools, and machinery
Ensure all equipment is maintained in a state of operational readiness, exceeding mandated regulatory standards
Conduct detailed root cause analysis for any equipment defects or failures. Execute complex repairs or manage external service providers to ensure prompt and effective rectification, minimizing downtime.
Coordinate and assist in comprehensive, independent technical audits and full-scope inspections of all recovery equipment, ensuring compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and international standards (e.g., ICAO, IATA). Generate formal, detailed technical reports summarizing findings, remedial actions, and certification status.
Proactively maintain, update, and manage the Aircraft Recovery Manuals (Aircraft, Operations, and Maintenance) and associated documentation.

Ensure all procedures reflect current industry's best practices and adhere to civil aviation authority requirements
Maintain a comprehensive and auditable digital database of all aircraft specifications, recovery gear inventory, maintenance logs, and asset lists (including status, location, and calibration due dates)
Design, develop, and implement an advanced, annual training program for the Aircraft Recovery Team. This must include but not limited to complex, scenario-based practical exercises and in-depth theoretical syllabus focused on diverse aircraft types and recovery environments.
Act as a qualified internal trainer, delivering specialized technical and operational instruction
Prepare detailed reports on training effectiveness, team competency assessments, and individual performance results
Create and continuously refine high-quality technical and operational training materials, including Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guides and equipment familiarization packages
Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive Aircraft Recovery Incident Reports detailing the recovery sequence, equipment usage, lessons learned, and any operational challenges encountered.
Assist the Manager - Emergency Planning, in the continuous review and refinement of the recovery framework, ensuring operational concepts are aligned with international best practice and airport needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Required: Professional certification in heavy machinery maintenance, rigging, or specialized aircraft ground handling is highly desirable
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience directly related to the maintenance, calibration, and/or operation of heavy ground support equipment (GSE) or specialized vehicle/aircraft recovery assets.
Proven background in applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards within high-risk operational environments, such as ramp operations or maintenance hangars.
Demonstrable technical proficiency in complex fault diagnostics and using precision measuring and calibration tools
