Who we’re looking for
Toyota's Connected Technologies Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Engineer II, for our Connected Home Energy Management System Product team.
The Engineer III is responsible for defining, executing, and owning the product strategy and product lifecycle tasks for a portfolio of products and delivering against a strategic product roadmap, the Engineer III balances product backlog priorities.

What you’ll be doing
Responsible for Project leadership within Connected Technologies division for Home Charging which includes Vehicle to Home and Vehicle to Grid functionality focused on the cloud server, smartphone app, and Multimedia components.
Oversee short- and long-term product strategy goals for current and upcoming Home Charging roadmap. This includes understanding vehicle dependencies from a technical platform. Familiar with data pipelines for in-vehicle and mobile applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine requirements applicable to cloud server, smartphone app, and Multimedia.
Responsible for in market product lifecycle support for cloud server, smartphone app, and Multimedia.
Prepare materials to support capital recommendations for internal key stakeholders, including senior executive leadership team members; track due diligence checklists and project management of integrations.
Support Development and Evaluations team through development and to product launch.
Support Operations team for in-market issue triage, mitigation planning, and alignments with external stakeholders.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 3 years or more relevant work experience in product management, product development, engineering, server/cloud development, or related disciplines.
Focused desire to identify and build technology products and services that customers enjoy.
A proactive, motivated individual who can self-manage and execute once given strategic direction.
Experience conducting market research and validating customer needs.
An entrepreneurial mindset, not afraid to ask questions, make decisions, or take on new assignments.
Ability to manage a wide variety of projects across multiple brands, business units, and/or technology platforms.
This role is onsite Monday through Thursday at our Plano, TX. location with remote Fridays possible if work permits and occasional late evening calls with our TMC partners in Japan
Added bonus if you have
Experience working in functional areas such telematics, product management, digital transformation, and emerging technologies and/or relevant industries such as automotive, consulting, or technology.
Agile product management or corporate development experience also a plus.
Strong relationship building skills; Demonstrated ability to facilitate and achieve cohesion and among many different individuals and functions.
Ability to easily break down complex, ambiguous problems and propose novel solutions.
Experience managing multiple outside vendors /partners and creating win-win outcomes
Proficiency in creating or understanding business models (profit and loss, discounted cash flows, relevant key performance indicators).
