Established in 2006, the Louisville office provides specialized expertise in programmatic retail and commercial development projects. Partnering seamlessly with our resources across the Southeast region, our Louisville team provides comprehensive civil engineering, surveying, and professional services for development projects in Kentucky and beyond.
Overview
We are seeking a full-time Engineer-in-Training IV (EIT IV) - Land Development based in our Louisville, KY office. This position will collaborate in-house with licensed civil engineers, landscape architects, and land surveyors to assist our clients in developing commercial and residential projects in the public and private sectors. This position is involved in the practical application of engineering principles to design infrastructure for site or commercial and residential land development projects.
Responsibilities
Assist a Project Manager in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimates
Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost
Identify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project’s purpose and need
Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company format
Direct production work of technicians
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
3-4 years' experience in civil design - site, commercial and/or residential design
EIT or ability to achieve by reciprocity
Experience with local jurisdiction entitlement and zoning along with permitting processes and procedures
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
