Key Responsibilities
- Work with other managers to understand departmental needs, contribute to production planning, and coordinate material distribution to various departments. Select suitable raw material according to drawing & specifications.
- Plan and manage materials to support manufacturing schedules and production requirements.
- Evaluate and interpret material specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical drawings.
- Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams for material forecasting and planning.
- Apply knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes to determine suitable materials and suppliers.
- Monitor material usage, inventory levels, and lead times to ensure on-time delivery.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective material utilization and vendor management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to material planning and usage.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve material-related issues
Work Experience
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing process planning.
- Good knowledge of material types, grades, and specifications used in production.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP systems, and production planning tools.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in oil & Gas industry.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or inventory optimization techniques.
- Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in mechanical / industrial / production engineering or related field.
