Engineer - Material Management

Key Responsibilities

• Work with other managers to understand departmental needs, contribute to production planning, and coordinate material distribution to various departments. Select suitable raw material according to drawing & specifications.
• Plan and manage materials to support manufacturing schedules and production requirements.
• Evaluate and interpret material specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical drawings.
• Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams for material forecasting and planning.
• Apply knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes to determine suitable materials and suppliers.
• Monitor material usage, inventory levels, and lead times to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through effective material utilization and vendor management.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to material planning and usage.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve material-related issues

Work Experience

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing process planning.
• Good knowledge of material types, grades, and specifications used in production.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, SAP systems, and production planning tools.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in oil & Gas industry.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or inventory optimization techniques.
• Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in mechanical / industrial / production engineering or related field.
