Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Lab Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee daily lab activities and ensure smooth functioning.

  • Ensure all lab equipment is properly calibrated, labelled and maintained.

  • Plan and manage preventive maintenance and repair schedules.

  • Gather equipment needs and forecast demand and coordinate with suppliers accordingly.

  • Drive and adapt AI for productivity improvement and quality enhancement

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Establish and enforce equipment quality standards in line with GEHC QMS procedures.

  • Participate in audits and conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure compliance.

  • Support both internal and external audits with relevant documentation and data.

  • Investigate and resolve equipment-related quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions and equipment quality records

  • Perform routine calibrations and verify calibration certificates for accuracy and maintain them for future reference.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Implement and monitor safety protocols in accordance with regulatory and JFWTC EHS (environment health and safety) standards.

  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of safety procedures and lab incidents.

Calibration & Maintenance Oversight

  • Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of critical lab equipment.

  • Maintain an accurate master list of equipment and related records (calibration certificates, service logs, scrap details, performance reports).

  • Coordinate with vendors and maintenance teams for servicing and upgrades.

Inventory & Procurement

  • Manage inventory of lab equipment, cables, hardware, and accessories.

  • Handle procurement and vendor coordination for lab supplies.

  • Track stock levels, usage, and maintain records of purchases, invoices, and audit documentation.

Support & Coordination

  • Assist engineers with device/simulator requirements for design and testing, including networking products.

  • Train new engineers, interns, and contractors on equipment usage.

  • Collaborate with other GEHC departments on joint projects.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain logs of all equipment status (working, non-working, out-of-service) with appropriate labelling

  • Collaborate closely with QA, RA, LSD, and Technical Leads to ensure effective resolution of Non-Conformances (NC), CAPA, and Left-Right Look activities with appropriate documentation

  • Work with logistic team on sending equipment to testing houses with gate pass and receivables with appropriate documentation and approvals

  • Prepare reports on lab operations, maintenance activities, and safety compliance.

  • Audit Trails & Documentation: support traceability and meet regulations through AI on FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and ISO 17025

Continual improvement

  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Work with engineering and operations teams to enhance reliability and efficiency.

  • Lead initiatives to reduce downtime and optimize equipment lifecycle management.

  • Drive AI for routine Task Automation: automate sample tracking, inventory updates, report generation, and compliance check

Training & Support

  • Conduct training sessions on equipment handling, safety protocols, and quality standards.

  • Provide technical support for equipment-related quality concerns.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lab environment, including at least 3 years in actively involved in lab in charge role.

  • Strong understanding of lab safety and 1000+ equipment handling experience.

  • Proficient in inventory and documentation management tools.

  • Experience with GEHC QMS (Quality Management system) procedure and work instruction

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with lab equipment.

  • Knowledge on Patient minoring products and medical simulator

  • Hands on work experience on closure of Non-Conformance (NC) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Familiarity with lab management tools and accessories.
