Schedule: Onsite with Hybrid/Remote Flexibility

Travel: 5–10% In-State Travel

Salary: $115,000 – $135,000


Job Summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is hiring Engineer PE I candidates with specialties in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Energy Engineering. The role involves designing, analyzing, testing, maintaining, repairing, and improving engineering systems and products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sign and seal engineering documents in compliance with state and professional standards.
  • Analyze, develop, and evaluate engineering systems and projects.
  • Design and draft blueprints, and manage engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Conduct site visits and coordinate with project teams.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and analyses.
  • Work under general supervision, resolving moderately complex engineering problems.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring as appropriate (Level II & III).


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years of engineering experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with 4 years of experience working under a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Experience with energy savings projects and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and utility data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience designing healthcare and higher education projects.
  • Experience with central energy plant (CEP) mechanical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience designing medium voltage protection and power distribution systems.
  • Experience with paralleled generator systems at medium voltage and below.


Additional Information

  • Ability to work onsite with hybrid/remote flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel 5-10% to project sites within state.
  • Engineer PE II and Engineer PE III positions available as well. Pay is based on experience.
