Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize plastic laser welding processes for automotive electronic components such as ECUs, sensors, actuators, connectors, and housings.
- Lead process development, trials, and industrialization during New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Define welding parameters including laser power, speed, focus, clamping force, and material compatibility.
- Ensure robust weld quality for sealed, functional, and cosmetic-critical components.
- Conduct process validation and documentation (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP).
- Troubleshoot production issues related to weld strength, leakage, cosmetic defects, warpage, and particulate contamination.
- Collaborate with design, tooling, automation, quality, and supplier teams to ensure DFM and DFA compliance.
- Support automation integration, inline inspection (vision, leak testing), and cycle time optimization.
- Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for yield, cost, and process capability (Cp/Cpk).
- Ensure compliance with laser safety, EHS, and internal manufacturing standards.
- Support internal and external audits and customer technical reviews
