• Execute testing and commissioning activities of substation equipment as per approved procedures, project specifications, and utility standards.
• Ensure safe energization and reliable operation of substation systems.

Pre-Commissioning Activities

• Review approved drawings, schematics, and protection philosophies.
• Verify installation of equipment as per approved GA drawings.
• Check cable terminations, ferruling, glandings, and tagging.
• Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of installed equipment.
• Ensure calibration of testing instruments before use.

Primary Equipment Testing

• Power Transformers (IR test, TTR, winding resistance, vector group check).
• Circuit Breakers (timing test, contact resistance test).
• Current Transformers (CT ratio & polarity test).
• Potential/Voltage Transformers (PT/VT testing).
• Isolators and earthing switches.
• Busbar continuity and insulation resistance testing.

• Perform SF6 gas pressure and leakage checks (where applicable).

Protection & Control Testing

• Test protection relays (overcurrent, differential, earth fault, distance).
• Conduct secondary injection and primary injection tests.
• Perform functional logic checks as per protection scheme.
• Test control circuits, annunciation systems, and interlocks.
• Verify SCADA signals and communication interfaces.

System Integration & Commissioning

• Conduct end-to-end testing of protection schemes.
• Perform transformer energization procedures.
• Support synchronization of panels and feeders.
• Coordinate shutdown activities for testing.
