Job Description
BAE Systems is currently seeking an Engineer Technologist to support our work as a prime contractor on high-profile U.S Navy weapon system. Interested candidates must demonstrate familiarity with automatic cable testing, test procedures, military projects, and poses the ability to communicate moderately complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. The candidate will be expected to apply knowledge of requirements definition and test principles to support development of test procedures, design of cable interface adapters, and evaluation of cabling changes for impacts.
This position is responsible for:

Supporting calibration and shipment of automatic cable test systems

Reviewing and modifying existing design documentation
-
Developing new documentation to support program needs
-
Developing requirements, test procedures, Quality Assurance Plans, Configuration Management Plans, and evaluation techniques for new emerging cable test programs

Preparing impact reports

Tracking and resolving problems found during cable testing

Participating in research and investigations as well as special studies

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience & Skills:

High school/GED with 4 years of experience

Basic electronics background
-
Familiarity with military projects
-
Experience with cable testing and automated testing

Experience with developing documentation related to requirements, test procedures, and analysis

Experience with research, problem solving, and analysis

Experience with reading cable running sheets, wiring lists, and wiring tables
-
Ability to work and communicate well with management, customers, and their contractors – including ability to provide clear and concise presentation/demonstration of advanced technical concepts

Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to interpret and follow requirements.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Excellent interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with colleagues, and customers Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and make sound decisions while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- 6 – 8 years of relevant professional experience

Active DoD SECRET security clearance

Field site experience supporting the SSBN Test Program

Current D-5 TRIDENT SWS Technical / Operational Knowledge

Working knowledge of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) organization

Experience working within the SSP Test Program

Fiber optics testing experience

Demonstrated experience in Test and Evaluation mythologies including test planning, execution, and reporting

US Navy Electronics Technician experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
