Engineering Aide

Role Purpose

The Engineering Aide supports the Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) team by providing technical, administrative, and documentation assistance for National Grid capital and customer-funded projects. The role ensures proper documentation control, coordination, report preparation, and compliance with Project Technical Specifications and COMPANY procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and technical support to QA/QC Engineers and the Project Quality Supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing audit reports, inspection checklists, NCR logs, MIR/RFI documents, tracking sheets, and biweekly QA/QC reporting requirements.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain all project documentation including test reports, inspection records, material logs, construction drawings, and approved submittals.
  • Support scheduling, coordination, and follow-ups for site inspections, storage inspections, and field testing activities.
  • Assist with preparation of PowerPoint presentations, data entry, dashboards, and status reports for COMPANY representatives.
  • Maintain controlled filing systems for confidential, controlled, and general documents in accordance with COMPANY standards.
  • Support the team in technical writing, drafting correspondence, and compiling audit evidence for submission.
  • Perform typing, formatting, and document editing in both English and Arabic.
  • Coordinate with project personnel to collect required documents or information for audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure proper archiving and availability of all quality records at project sites at all times.
  • Use MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other applications to prepare documents, presentations, and tracking sheets.

Minimum Qualifications (as per Contract)
  • Degree or Diploma in any discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience, including 2 years in Administrative/Engineering Aide roles within High Voltage projects.
  • Proficient in computer applications and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and typing in English and Arabic.
  • Trained in technical writing, coordination, reporting, and communication skills in English.
  • Skilled in document processing using PC applications and associated software.
  • Well-versed in documents maintenance, management, and archiving with the ability to categorize and control confidential documents.

  • Team-oriented and capable of supporting engineers working across multiple project sites.

Work Location & Conditions

  • Work will be performed at project sites, operating area offices, or client headquarters as required.
  • Travel may be required to various National Grid operating areas (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha).
  • Must adhere to COMPANY safety and PPE requirements.
