Engineering Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated Bilingual Mandarin Engineering Assistant to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Mandarin and English, with a strong background in engineering principles and practices. This role involves assisting the engineering team with various tasks, including project documentation, communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers, and technical support.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Technical Support:

• Assist engineers with technical tasks and project support.
• Provide translations of technical documents, manuals, and specifications from Mandarin to English and vice versa.
• Help in preparing engineering reports, presentations, and documentation.

Project Coordination:

• Coordinate with Mandarin-speaking clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, both internally and with external stakeholders.
• Track project progress and report any issues or delays to the engineering manager.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

• Maintain organized records of all engineering documents, drawings, and correspondence.
• Ensure that all translated documents are accurate and filed correctly.
• Prepare and update project documentation as required.

Communication:

• Act as a liaison between the engineering team and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Translate verbal and written communication accurately and efficiently.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions by providing interpretation services.

Administrative Support:

• Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, purchase orders, and other project-related paperwork.
• Support the engineering team with data entry, report generation, and other clerical tasks as needed.

Quality Assurance:

• Assist in the review and quality assurance of engineering deliverables.
• Ensure that translated documents and communications maintain technical accuracy and consistency.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to improve processes and efficiency within the engineering department.
• Stay updated with the latest engineering trends and technologies relevant to the industry.
