Summary: Design air-cooled heat exchangers per customer specification and American Society of Mechanical Engineering codes by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Check designs and drawings of other Mechanical Design Engineers.

Train Design Engineers on ASME code, API 661, ASCE, AISC, Quality Work Instructions, design software, design processes and templates, and Kelvion manufacturing standards. Provide on-going on-the-job training to facilitate continuous performance improvement.

Monitor and facilitate Design Engineer performance to maximize productivity, efficiency, and issue design drawings/calculations on time. Ensure scheduled completion dates are met.

Implement process improvements to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and lower product cost.

Keep Engineering Director informed of systemic changes, job schedules and issues, and other department issues.

Design air-cooled heat exchangers as required to meet customer demands.

Communicate with sales, customer, shop and detail drafters.

Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.

Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.

Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to supervise 5 to 15 non-exempt employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Directing employees’ work; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) years of experience designing Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. Mechanical or Structural PE is preferred.

General knowledge of welded steel fabrication practices.

Good drafting skills.
-
Computer skills must include Windows, AutoCAD, Excel and Word.

Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineering Code (Section VIII, Division 1), American Petroleum Institute 661 and American Institute of Steel Construction.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The manufacturing plant is located at the Port of Catoosa near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
