Your New Role

Reporting directly into the Group Engineering function based in Dubai, the Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead is a highly technical, analytical role. Moving away from pure project delivery and rollout management, your mission is to be the ultimate engineering gatekeeper—serving as the critical bridge between design intent and real-world operational performance.

• Design Validation & Challenge: Actively challenge, review, and independently validate complex product designs to ensure they are safe, maintainable, and highly practical before they hit the field.
• Performance Optimization: Focus heavily on improving engineering outcomes and operational efficiency, translating high-level engineering concepts into cost-efficient field solutions.
• Sustainability & Fuel Reduction: Own the technical governance for energy efficiency programs, driving initiatives to reduce diesel generator (DG) run hours and accelerating pathways to net-zero.
• Technology Trials: Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) and live pilot deployments to rigorously assess new hybrid technologies, configurations, and equipment.
• Engineering Governance: Analyze asset lifecycle trends and failures across multiple operating markets to drive continuous improvement, cost avoidance, and warranty recovery.
• Business Case Realization: Ensure that once a system is deployed, it actually delivers the expected technical performance and financial business case intended by the design.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Please note: This is not a project rollout or operational delivery role. We are specifically seeking a deep technical specialist who has spent their career optimizing engineering assets and validating designs.

• Core Focus: Proven background in engineering assurance, technical validation, or engineering governance roles with direct accountability for asset performance.
• Technical Power Expertise: Significant experience in power systems engineering (generators, advanced batteries, rectifiers, control systems, and renewables) within telecom, critical power, or heavy infrastructure environments.
• Efficiency Track Record: Demonstrable experience leading energy efficiency, fuel reduction, or green tech optimization programs.
• Analytical & Financial Acumen: Strong capability in lifecycle cost analysis, asset performance optimization, and total cost of ownership (TCO) / ROI assessments.
• Cross-Market Influence: The ability to enforce engineering standards and translate technical designs into clear, field-ready guidance across multiple operating companies or regions.
