Lead the front-end engineering design, basic design, and detailed engineering of water and wastewater systems, including: Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Thermal Systems (ZLD), Produced Water Treatment Packages
Perform and review key engineering calculations: Equipment sizing, Hydraulic flow and pressure drop analysis, Load calculations for foundations and support structures
Manage engineering milestones, deliverables, and interface management with clients, contractors, and vendors.
Support the development of sustainable and cost-efficient engineering solutions.
Review the Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and technical datasheets
Develop and review technical specifications compliant with industry standards and project requirements.
Conduct design / engineering validation and structural integrity assessments.
Approve detailed design documents, including:
General arrangement and piping drawings
Equipment layout and Piping Layout
Isometrics and fabrication drawings
Collaborate with design teams to ensure accuracy and alignment of project objectives.
Review and approve civil layout drawings and foundation designs.
Validate structural load calculations to ensure compatibility with mechanical components.
Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and architectural teams to maintain integration of multidisciplinary designs.
Participate in project kick-off meetings and vendor evaluations.
Provide technical clarifications and lead engineering discussions with contractors, consultants, and clients.
Review and approve vendor deliverables including datasheets, drawings, and calculations.
Contribute to project risk assessments including: Design Review, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments, 3D model reviews and value engineering workshops
Assist in component selection, vendor evaluation, and cost estimation activities.
Provide technical support during site installation, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Lead, mentor, and review work of process engineers, design engineers, and discipline leads.
Coordinate with external consultants, OEMs, and subcontractors.
Act as the key engineering interface with clients, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with the organization’s QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) Management System.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for engineering deliverables and project records.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through feedback, audits, and lessons learned.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering/Engineering from an accredited University.
Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage
The role involves end-to-end technical ownership—from concept and detailed design through construction support, commissioning, and handover—ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Review and approve process design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with
local authority regulations (ADM, EWEC, ADDC, ADSSC)
and international standards (ISO, AWWA, ASTM, IEC).
