This position entails leading & managing an engineering team on design and development of Capacitor and Network protector products range primarily for US markets. He/she will be responsible for driving a culture of innovation, learning & continuous improvement while executing the projects which include NPI, NTI, VAVE, cost out, engineer to order, Process improvement & standardization. He/ she will be responsible for creating & implementing the roadmap for developing capabilities in line with the strategic plan over the next few years. He/she will be directly responsible for people management, which includes grooming talent, motivation, hiring and retention to deliver high performance for leading & owing engineering element will be prime focus. He/ she will have responsibility to take individual ownership of engineering projects mainly standardization / cost out to have hands on in addition to people management.
- Provide tactical and strategic direction for product development in Capacitor and Network protector products including NPI, VAVE, ETO, Sustaining projects
- Provide technical leadership to the team to execute projects and make day to day engineering decisions. He/ she should be well acquainted with Engineer to order product development, VAVE and engineering aspects as required for project execution.
- Drive growth & accelerate capability development in line with business strategy. Lead efforts to enrich Metal enclosed Visovac experience and enhance expertise targeting end to end execution. Develop technology roadmap aligned with business strategic plan & EIIC strategic roadmaps for the group.
- In addition to organizational leadership, execute VisoVac projects individually with 50% bandwidth
- Build strong hands on experience on Visovac productline by contributing to engineering deliverables through Visovac development assignments.
- Lead cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions in line with division’s strategy and future growth plans.
- Recruit and retain team of engineers to provide product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Should be able to set realistic goals for self and team. Leverage performance management, development plans and best practices to continuously improve team performance.
- Drive analysis first and data driven decisions culture within the team to achieve engineering excellence. Encourage team for critical reviews and drive actions for continuously improving the quality of work.
- Understand business side of operations and support the division by driving culture of continuous improvement, costout and digital tools.
- Mentor and coach team in all aspects of leadership competencies.
- Think creatively to make new proposals and present them to stakeholders during waterlining and profit planning
- Contribute to team’s technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring.
