Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing technical, quality control and administrative support to Superintendents, Project
Managers, and Construction Managers on jobsites - Monitoring and reporting daily production directly to the Project Manager when assigned to a
project. - Responsible for sales, estimating and project development related tasks.
- Performing detailed geotechnical and structural analysis and collaborating with our engineering
department to develop work. - Developing business and searching for new opportunities and clients by attending trade shows,
conferences and other marketing events. - Establishing new and maintaining existing relationships with our customers.
- Reviewing and interpreting civil, structural and geotechnical construction documents.
- Collaborating with Menard clientele to develop creative solutions to mitigate challenging soil
conditions. Communicating with clients, engineers and architects in order to move the sales
process along and bring the project to contract. - Ensuring all Company, OSHA, MSHA, and site specific safety regulations are followed/enforced.
- Performing and managing field quality control tests and production records.
- Runs small work crews (technical tasks like water testing, load testing, etc.)
- Researching and resolving drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
- Performs basic field surveys, resolves geometry issues, prepares drawings / sketches to support
construction work. - Preparing RFI’s and assisting in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysis.
- Tracking invoices, takes care of documentation and submittals.
- Preparing geotechnical designs, cost estimates and proposals for ground support solutions
based on interpretation of project documents. - Making technical presentations to prospects and supports educational training of Menard
clientele.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques and methods.
- Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with basic geotechnical design and calculation principles.
- Ability to identify known potential exposures and recommend corrective action.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and multi-task.
Education and Experience Requirements
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods (8+ hours) of standing and walking while wearing all required PPE.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to traverse facilities in all weather conditions.
