We are seeking a motivated and experienced Equipment Specialist to join our maintenance team in a dynamic, high-precision medical device manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production continuity while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with operations to minimize equipment downtime and deliver responsive technical support.
- Execution of Maintenance Activities, including proactive servicing and verification to maintain compliance.
- Diagnosing technical issues in assembly and testing systems, along with remedial actions to re-establish operations.
- Prioritize and manage competing maintenance tasks in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing setting.
- Operate within the Maintenance and Reliability framework.
- Ensure adherence to Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
- Maintain and review technical and compliance documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and compliance reporting activities.
Qualifications & Experience (Required):
- Minimum of a Diploma in a Technical Discipline or relevant Trade Qualification .
- Strong communication skills – able to clearly convey technical issues and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong Computer Skills - Competent in Microsoft suite.
- Experienced in a team environment in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Understanding of maintenance performance metrics (KPIs), including the use of downtime data and reliability indicators.
- Solid knowledge of WHS and QA systems in manufacturing.
- Experience with technical and compliance documentation.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage urgent maintenance priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and foster a proactive, solutions-oriented culture.
Qualifications & Experience (Desirable):
- Previous experience in the medical device or other regulated industry is highly advantageous.
- Qualification and/or practical experience in Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Controls, PLC-based equipment, or electro-mechanical manufacturing systems
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles is advantageous to improve efficiency and reduce waste in maintenance processes.
- Understanding of RCA, CM, PM, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
