Engineering/Computer Science Faculty

Engineering/Computer Science Faculty Position 2026-2027:
Marianapolis Preparatory School seeks a qualified teacher, preferably with experience in an
independent secondary school setting, to teach Computer Science and/or Engineering at both
the Advanced Placement® and entry levels, with the collaboration and supervision of the Chair
of the Mathematics and Informatics Department. Courses for this position include, but may not
be limited to, Foundations of Computer Science - exploring hardware and software,
Programming Application & Design, AP® Computer Science A and AP® Computer Science
Principles, Engineering & Design, and Robotics. An undergraduate degree in Engineering/
Computer Science or a related field is necessary. In addition, the school seeks a candidate who
has knowledge and experience in using educational technology in the classroom. ClearTouch
Technology is utilized to facilitate multimodal instruction.

In addition, the position includes: advising, participation as an athletic coach or activities leader
for two seasons each year, and involvement in residential life, understanding that the typical
commitment involves both after-school activities and weeknight-weekend supervision.

All teacher candidates are expected to have either experience or interest in learning the
Understanding by Design curriculum development framework. Preferred candidates must enjoy
working with adolescents, have an ability to work well in a student-centered curriculum, and
understand student learning styles and differentiated instruction.
