English as a Second Language Instructor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor to inspire and empower adult learners in their journey to achieve language proficiency. In this role, you will design engaging curricula, deliver effective instruction, and utilize innovative learning technologies to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Duties

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans tailored to adult learners’ language levels, needs, and goals, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
  • Deliver engaging ESL instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including classroom management techniques that foster active participation and positive learning experiences.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to track student progress, assign activities, and facilitate blended learning environments.
  • Provide individualized tutoring and coaching to support students with diverse needs, including those with visual impairments or who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Design instructional materials that promote literacy education, adult language acquisition, and special education accommodations where necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design initiatives and participate in teacher training sessions to enhance pedagogical skills such as classroom management and lesson planning.
  • Foster effective communication with students from bilingual backgrounds and ensure inclusive classroom environments that respect cultural diversity.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in teaching English as a Second Language to adult learners in classroom or online settings.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and adult education principles.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning technology tools, and digital resources for language instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse student populations.
  • Experience working with students who have special needs, including visual impairments or hearing disabilities; knowledge of deaf education is a plus.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with effective lesson planning abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency is desirable but not required; fluency in multiple languages can enhance student engagement.
