English Inclusion Teacher August 2026

Position

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, qualified English Teacher to join our dynamic team at DIS. In this role you will be part of both the English department and the Inclusion department. You will work closely with students of determination, providing the guidance and support they need to thrive in their English studies. Your mission will be to ensure that every student, regardless of their unique needs and challenges, has equal access to a high quality education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality and challenging English lessons to ensure progress and academic success for our learners
• Support teachers in planning for and supporting students with additional needs
• Deliver interventions for students to improve their general English knowledge
• Meet parents to discuss their child's progress and individual targets
• Attend English department meetings and inclusion department meetings and action relevant tasks assigned by the department leaders

Qualifications

• GCSE experience in English (essential)
• A B.Ed. or degree in a related subject and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge
• Experience in working with students with additional needs
• An understanding and awareness of IEPs, pupil passports and their purpose in supporting learners
• A proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching
• A mindset that understands all students have the potential for top performance, and the drive and passion to enable them to do so
