English/ Jamaican Patois Tutor

Job Overview
We are seeking an English Tutor to support a client whose primary language is Jamaican Patois. The client requires 3 hours of in‑person tutoring per week.

Duties

• Travel to the client’s location
• Develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy, writing skills, and cultural context to support language acquisition
• Use modern learning technology to create interactive lessons, track progress, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Build a positive rapport with the client through supportive and culturally responsive teaching
• Provide constructive feedback to strengthen the client’s speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills

Experience

• Proven experience tutoring or teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or in a related field
• Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning for diverse learning needs
• Experience working with individuals with special education needs or in inclusive learning environments
• Strong communication skills in English
