The primary role of the English Instructor is to deliver the English
curriculum to the military students in accordance with all processes and
policies at the QTI. The role will involve teaching, and supporting the
creation, maintenance and delivery of the English programme to specific
standards in the Foundation department.
The role will involve engaging in regular feedback meetings with Senior
Instructors, in support of continuous improvement of the instructor’s class and
the department as a whole. Taking ownership of their class and leading by
example, the instructor must demonstrate professionalism and flexibility. The
instructor must also demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional
development and continuous improvement initiatives within the QTI.

Effective delivery of the curriculum in accordance with relevant policies and procedures within the QTI.

Ensuring military students make good progress as measured against the CEFR.

Support the development of the department and instructors by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Work collaboratively with all English instructors, and instructors of other subjects, to provide students with the best chance of success in the Foundation programme.

Regularly report student progress, attendance and behaviour to Foundation management.

Engage with the QTI’s performance management policy effectively to ensure objectives are met.

Requirements
Required:

Holds qualified teacher’s status/has relevant education and training qualification e.g. CELTA, TESOL, PGCE, and MA, BA in ELT/TESOL/Education
-
Relevant experience teaching English to international students in a range of contexts, especially in the Middle East desirable but not essential.

Experience of IELTS teaching and examinations.

Experience within a military setting desirable.

Demonstrable soft skills across a multi-disciplinary department.

Ability to use different teaching and administrative technologies.
