Position Overview
CHSC GES is seeking a dedicated English Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team immediately. The position will teach four periods of mixed-level Language Arts (English 2 and English 4) and includes one daily planning period and a duty-free lunch. The ideal candidate brings flexibility, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting students in achieving academic success in a small-school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging, standards-aligned English instruction to students in grades 9 through 12.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent instructional practices and support across courses.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students and staff.
  • Implement school-wide systems and expectations aligned with CHSC’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; teaching license (English or Language Arts endorsement) preferred.
  • Experience teaching high school English or related content.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting diverse learners.

Compensation and Benefits
