Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English language and literature, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning journey. This role involves developing curriculum, managing classroom dynamics, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages literacy and critical thinking skills.

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
• Teach various aspects of English including writing skills, creative writing, journalism, and literature analysis.
• Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
• Mentor students in their academic pursuits while providing guidance in areas such as standardized testing and literacy education.
• Conduct classroom management effectively to maintain an environment conducive to learning.
• Provide tutoring and academic advising to support individual student needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and instructional design initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.

Experience

• Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting, preferably at the higher education level or private school environment.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
• Strong knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, linguistics, and proofreading practices.
• Experience in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for effective teaching and collaboration.
• Background in research, library services, or education administration is advantageous.
