Job Summary:
The English Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The teacher will create an engaging learning environment that fosters linguistic confidence, critical thinking, and a love for literature among students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive and creative English lessons according to the curriculum.
- Develop students’ proficiency in grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and composition.
- Teach a range of literary genres, encouraging analysis, interpretation, and discussion.
- Use diverse teaching methods, multimedia tools, and activities to enhance learning engagement.
- Assess students through quizzes, assignments, presentations, and examinations.
- Provide timely feedback to students to support their academic and linguistic growth.
- Maintain accurate and updated student performance records.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and motivating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum planning and co-curricular events (e.g., debates, reading clubs, dramatics).
- Participate in professional development sessions, staff meetings, and school functions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, ideally in middle or secondary grades.
- Strong command of English language and literature.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
