English Teacher

Habitat Academy is looking for native and/or native-level English Teachers with experience and passion.

We are a unique English learning home with a socially responsible mindset. We teach English in English without a formal textbook via the communicative and task-based approach. This is done in a non-traditional environment with hands-on experience. Come join us in our quest for a true and effective learning experience.

Typical responsibilities of the job include:

– organizing and running courses while applying communicative, task-based and direct teaching approaches in a natural learning environment

– providing specialized instructional techniques and media through individual and/or group sessions designed to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of the students

– running activity based English learning sessions (such as cooking, filmmaking, drama, etc.) and preparing the necessary teaching materials

– helping students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills via individual and group sessions

– checking and assessing students’ work

– genuinely interacting with students before, during and after class sessions

– informing parents when necessary

– filling out daily attendance and class progress sheets

– writing student evaluation letters every two months

– attending staff meetings and school organized social events

– using electronic devices (computers, printers, home appliances) and necessary software (Office programs, Zoom, Google Drive) effectively and efficiently

– demonstrating punctuality and professionalism

This is a full-time position, and weekend availability is required. Habitat Academy operates across three schools: Akarbaşı, Batıkent, and Vişnelik. Please note that we are currently unable to guarantee the specific location for this position.
